The Origin: The idea of The Cork Company was sparked while we were brainstorming gifts for my dad's 60th birthday. As the youngest of 4 children who have all graduated college and live in different cities across the US, the time we spend as a family now is more valuable than ever before – each time we are together meaning that much more.
The Vision: For the upcoming Napa trip, let's collect all the wine corks we drink as a family and gift Dad a way to remember the trip that also serves as a home decor item our Mom would want to showcase in the house. The only requirement was it being large enough so we can add to the collection when the family is together at home after the trip.
We decided on a clear, large format wine bottle.
The Challenge: After hours of searching online for something to match our vision, there was no product available to purchase. More and more research led to the same result. With nothing to show for the idea, we had unintentionally identified a gap in the wine community that led to the ultimate question of what should we do now?

Ideation to Execution
The Solution: With no online products to match our vision, we took things into our own hands. We drew an initial design of the bottle with detailed specs and contacted about every Ohio-based glass shop we could locate, inquiring if they could hand blow a custom bottle. We ultimately connected with a Cleveland-based

The Solution: With no online products to match our vision, we took things into our own hands. We drew an initial design of the bottle with detailed specs and contacted about every Ohio-based glass shop we could locate, inquiring if they could hand blow a custom bottle. We ultimately connected with a Cleveland-based company who was willing to turn our vision into a tangible product. After the bottle was created, gifted, and filled with corks on our trip, the idea of turning this bottle into a standardized product that could be in every home and apartment in America, and across the world, was officially born.
After 2 years of extensive research and development, partnering with the right suppliers to ensure only the highest quality products, and designing a strategy to enable success at scale, The Cork Company was launched in February of 2025 - the rest is history to be written.
